ZipZoomfly had these drives for fairly cheap with a rebate and 20% Bing cashback.. so I snatched one up for backing up my data.
It came neatly packaged in a box with packing peanuts and out foam encasing the drive.
Here’s a shot of the drive head-on with the serial numbers removed.
Side SATA connection and power.
And here it is installed with my other drives. For a moment I thought the manufacturer forgot a screw on the bottom left corner for a second. It turns out they’re made that way.
Looks like the Black series does have a performance increase. That Maxtor does not look too great..
Hiked up Mission Peak for first time on August 14, 2009.
Started out at Ohlone College in parking lot M at approximately 8 AM. Went up the road to the main sign and started up the trail. Started out as a steep, rocky climb, and then flattened out after. Going past brushy areas of poison oak, winding around the mountain following the trail up to a fence, led up to the steepest area of the hike — going up the loose rocks led to the peak. Very nice view of the Bay Area and the cities. Reached the peak near 10 AM.
